Martha is a contemporary art quilter, teacher, exhibitor and textile tour leader. She creates graphic, representational works portraying elements of family, environmental and human rights concerns, informed by my experience as a marine toxicologist and observer of nature. “Travel has always been an important part of my inspiration and creative process. In the absence of travel, I’ve found new inspiration working intuitively and am enjoying a journey of creative discovery.” Materials of choice include new and renewed hand-printed and painted fabrics, vintage linens and Japanese cottons and silks, and commercial fabrics.

Her work has been exhibited in quilt shows like PIQF, solo shows juried SAQA shows across the US. Check out more of her work on her website!
